Learning to Serve, Serving to Learn

Service-learning is a way of learning with the head, the heart and hands. It combines learning goals and community service in ways that can enhance both student growth and the common good. It is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. All S1 students are assigned to a uniform group, namely, Girl Guide, Scout, Red Cross or Civil Aid Service. Through training and serving in these uniform groups, they can be responsible and reliable young adults. Besides, a Service Award Scheme is implemented to encourage students’ involvement in social services.
